Spreading Joy and Full Plates this Christmas

At Good Care Community Trust, we believe that no one should go hungry, especially during the most wonderful time of the year. This week, our team continued distributing special Christmas food parcels to local families. Each parcel was carefully packed with fresh ingredients and festive treats so families could enjoy a hearty Christmas meal with dignity and joy.

Seeing the smiles and relief on people’s faces reminded us why this mahi matters. It is more than food. It is about sharing hope and making sure everyone feels the warmth of our community.

Filling Cupboards, Warming Hearts

It was one of our busiest weeks yet as we worked closely with local schools to reach families who need support the most. Schools play a vital role by identifying families facing challenges and helping ensure our support reaches the right homes.

For many whānau, these food parcels provide stress relief during an expensive season, healthy foundations for children and a vital safety net during unexpected hardship.

Serving Our Families

We are proud to continue delivering fresh and nutritious food parcels across the community. By working alongside local schools and using their referral systems, we are able to support families in a respectful and meaningful way. No child should learn on an empty stomach and no family should face the holidays without support.

Together, we are keeping our community strong.

The centre remained active this week with members continuing to drop in, connect and enjoy the usual activities together. Even during the holiday period, it has been great to see familiar faces, friendly conversations and a strong sense of togetherness. These everyday moments of connection are what keep our community feeling supported and included, especially at the end of the year.

Spreading Holiday Cheer with Good Care Community Trust

This week, the Good Care Community Trust has been actively distributing food parcels to families of school children who are most in need during the holiday season. Christmas is a time of giving and togetherness, and we believe no family should have to worry about putting food on the table during this special time.

These efforts matter even more during Christmas. Food parcel distribution provides immediate relief, helps ease financial pressure and reflects the true spirit of generosity. Most importantly, it strengthens our community by reminding families that they are not alone.

It has been another busy but incredibly rewarding week as our team continued delivering food parcels to families facing tough times. The work does not stop, and our commitment remains strong. Every parcel delivered represents care, dignity and support for those who need it most.

We are also continuing to support families whose children attend our partner low decile schools. Each parcel is packed with nutritious and essential food items to help children stay healthy, energised and ready to thrive, especially as the year comes to an end.

At Good Care Community Trust, we believe no one in our community should have to worry about their next meal. From pantry staples to fresh produce, these parcels are more than groceries. They are a message of hope, kindness and unity during the Christmas season.

Together, we are building a stronger, more caring community.
