Schools in Action – Breakfast Prepared by Students

East Tamaki Primary School, Otara, received their breakfast food delivery this week, and it was wonderful to see the tamariki preparing their own meals from the ingredients provided by Good Care Community Trust. Their excitement, teamwork and pride show how important these moments of hands-on learning can be.

We also received fantastic photos from Manurewa High School, showing students preparing breakfast using the ingredients supplied by GCCT. It is inspiring to see how these schools are turning food deliveries into opportunities for learning, cooperation and care. Every shared meal helps build stronger, more connected communities.

Diwali Celebration at Good Care Community Trust

What a joyous and vibrant celebration we had as the Good Care Community Trust came together to celebrate Diwali, the beautiful Festival of Lights, with our wonderful members.

The hall was glowing with the spirit of hope, happiness and the triumph of good over evil. It was a heartwarming occasion filled with laughter, colour, music and festive cheer. A special highlight of the day was sharing delicious traditional sweets, which everyone thoroughly enjoyed. Seeing so many smiling faces made the day even brighter.

The GCCT wishes all our members and the wider community a Happy Diwali. May this festival bring peace, prosperity and endless joy to you and your families.

English Classes and Generations Learning Together

Our usual English learning classes were lively and full of participation this week. Members continue to show dedication and enthusiasm as they strengthen their language skills and build confidence through every session.

A beautiful highlight has been seeing the younger and older generations learning side by side. The children bring fresh energy and curiosity, while the adults share wisdom, patience and life experience. Watching them help one another, laugh together and celebrate progress shows what true community learning looks like.
