Good Care Community Trust (GCCT), in collaboration with the New Zealand Police, hosted an important awareness workshop focusing on scams that are increasingly targeting seniors in our community.

The session provided a comprehensive overview of common scam types, including:

  1. Bank Scams – Impersonating financial institutions to steal sensitive information.

  2. Fake Parcel Scams – Messages claiming failed deliveries to collect money or data.

  3. Honey Trap Scams – Manipulating emotions through fake relationships to commit fraud.

  4. WhatsApp Scams – Fraudulent messages meant to deceive and gain access to personal details.

Attendees gained practical advice on how to recognise, prevent, and report these scams. GCCT remains committed to keeping our community informed and protected through such collaborative initiatives.
